The Chartreux made a strong showing at the 2018 CFA International show in Cleveland, OH!
This year’s show was one of the largest in recent years, with approximately 800 cats entered. We had a total of 14 Chartreux present and competing in the two shows.
In the Purple show, GC GP RW Foxykats Lady Liberty represented the Chartreux, and did very well in a highly competitive group of Premiership cats, ending up with #14 in show overall!
In the Teal show we had 9 Chartreux present in Championship, 3 Chartreux present in Premiership, and 1 Chartreux present in the Veterans class. It was really fun and exciting to have so many Chartreux competing together.
In Championship, competition for the Helen Gamon Award was suspenseful to the end, as Best of Breed in the rings kept going back and forth between GC Houseofblues Ned Stark and GC Bluebijou’s Nicholas of Lutece, two very handsome young males. The competition for Best Champion in each ring was intense as well, with 7 lovely females competing, and it took quite a while for some of the judges to make their choices! The overall winner was not determined until the very last ring on Sunday, when Rachel Anger put Nicholas over Ned (making Nicholas the Gamon Award winner) and then awarded the Best of Breed to her best Champion, CH Gato Azul’s Nola. Most of the rings had at least one Chartreux called up to the final… we had a great show!
Present and competing in Championship:
- GC Bluebijou’s Nicholas of Lutece, #24 in show and Best of Breed
- GC Houseofblues Ned Stark, #35 in show
- CH Gato Azul’s Nola, #56 in show
- CH Lecompagnon Nanette, #64 in show
- Lutece Olympia (Open), #76 in show
- CH Bluebijou’s Nellie
- CH Foxykats Nailah of Prairiebaby
- CH Bluebijou’s Mercedes of Forever-Moor
- CH Houseofblues Lindsy of Forever-Moor
In Premiership, judges also had a tough choice as they were presented with three beautiful Grand Premiers. Overall best of breed was GP RW Foxykats Nox-I-Of Saint Louis, but all three of the Chartreux did well and made finals in the highly competitive Premiership class!
Present and competing in Premiership:
- GP RW Foxykats Nox I-Of-Saint Louis, #20 in show and Best of Breed
- GP AC Foxykats Mondavi of Prairiebaby, #36 in show
- GC GP Bluebijou’s Harmonie, #41 in show
In the Veterans class, the breed was well represented by the lovely GC BW NW Maison Dukat Estee Lauder of Janvier DM, 9 years old, who made all the finals and ended up #7 in show in the Veterans class!
In Agility, Lutece Olympia was ably handled by Orca’s daughter, completed the Agility course and earned her AC title.
Congratulations to the cats, exhibitors, breeders, and others who attended this fun and exciting show!
